Be part of a local tribute to the heroes in our lives – past and present. Starting with a formal opening ceremony on Thursday, May 24, 2018 at 5:30 p.m., 200 flags will be flown at Oak Creek Community Center. A hero tag listing the donor's name and their personal hero will be placed on each sponsored flag. After the field of flags comes down on May 30, the honor tags will be sent to their sponsors. To reserve a flag, use the Flags for Heroes form. To learn more, email us.
Anyone can be honored. It could be a member of the military or police, fire or other first responder who puts their life on the line for us every day. It could be a teacher, a coach, a mentor, a community leader. It could be anyone who has been a hero in your life.
All net proceeds from Flags for Heroes will be donated back to projects in the communities of Cudahy, Oak Creek, Franklin, St. Francis and South Milwaukee through the Rotary Club of Mitchell Field Foundation, a 501(c)(3) public charity.
Your flag sponsorship is 100% tax deductible.
Flags will be installed on Friday, May 18 started at 10 am and removed on Wednesday, May 30 at 4 pm. If you or your group is interested in helping to install or remove flags, please contact Rotarian Tamara Morgan at 414-301-3119.
