David Liners is the Executive Director for WISDOM, a Wisconsin network of faith-based organizations, part of the international Gamaliel Foundation.  WISDOM is a multi-issue, grassroots organization. Through one of their projects ROC, Restore Our Communities, WISDOM is taking on Wisconsin's mass incarceration. States like Texas, Michigan and New York are closing prisons.  As they reduce their incarceration rates, their crime rates are dropping faster than the national average.  There are some ways in which Wisconsin could follow their lead and could safely reduce its prison population.  Instead of debating the need for new facilities, we could be arguing about which ones to close.  This presentation will walk through some decisions Wisconsin will face in the next two years.
